Candidacy Announcement!

Today, I am excited to announce my candidacy for Henderson Ward 1 Councilwoman. As your friend, neighbor, and advocate, I promise to serve you with honor, dignity, and transparency. As a third-generation Henderson resident, I understand the needs and wants of those who live and work here.

As a mother, I know and understand the needs of our children emotionally, educationally, and physically, and I will do everything possible to ensure they grow up in a safe, enriching Henderson. As a teacher’s daughter, I understand our educators’ struggles. I support our teachers and parents in their quest to provide the best education possible to our children. I know how vitally important a good education is for our community, and I will work cohesively with the parents, educators, and politicians to ensure we are doing everything possible to create a nurturing educational environment for all involved.

As the spouse of, daughter of, and friend of many small business owners, I understand the needs and issues that our small business community faces. Having a clear understanding of these issues gives me the insight to better support our small businesses, allowing them to flourish in Henderson.

As the spouse of a retired Henderson Police Officer, I understand at an intimate level how important safety is for our community. Safety for our community and first responders is the foundation on which the rest of our city depends. I will do everything in my power to ensure that our community members, those who live and work in Henderson, are kept safe and given the ability to prosper and grow into who they are working so hard to become. When you vote for me, you are voting to have your voice and concerns heard, understood, and valued by our City Council and city leadership. You are voting for responsible and effective leadership, and you are voting for a stronger, safer, more prosperous Henderson.

With Love and Respect
Ali Nilson, Candidate for Henderson City Council

I have had the pleasure of serving with Ali on the Henderson Parks and Recreation Board for the past several years. Ali’s positive attitude and dedication to the needs of our community are second to none. She is a dedicated wife, mother, business owner, and volunteer -- and her goal is to make the City of Henderson truly a “Place to Call Home” not only for her children, but for generations to come. She has been a constant participant in city meeting and events, using her voice as a positive catalyst for change and to help our city move in the right direction for all of our residents. Ali Nilson brings her heart and soul to everything she does, and would be the best candidate to represent Ward 1 on the Henderson City Council. She has my vote, and I would encourage you to vote for her as well.
